This page shows you how to obtain new amateur radio license in Cambodia after June 2023.
I just share one of cases of licensing in Cambodia.
Cambodia government changed the procedure for the licensing of amateur radio at the beginning of 2021.
During Jan 2021 - May 2023, there were no legal amateur radio stations which were permitted from Cambodia government due to no way to renew or issue new license.
We had to submit the application forms (this form is prior version, can not be accepted) for our new amateur radio licenses to the new office of TRC with passport copies, TA certificate of our TX equipment, certificates of our resident and 60,000KHR.
Regarding to the filling out of new application form, please refer the description on the CAMRG site.
For your reference, to get a TA certificate of our TX equipment, it took around USD2,000 to apply in our case.
After passing an inspection at our operation site and payment 100,000KHR to MPTC, we were able to get new licenses.
Very disappointed news for short term visitors who want to operate amateur radio in Cambodia.
I share you the original message from TRC which is not corrected and also is still not official announcement but is tentative.
Please be informed that the Radio Frequency License can't be issued to tourist for the short visit.
The license can be issued to foreigners in the condition as follows:
- Having long-term/permanent working visa in Cambodia
- The are living or working in Cambodia
- They have job/workplace ID in Cambodia
